Elmedia Player is a video and audio player that will play virtually any file you throw at it, be it MP4, AVI, MOV, SWF, DAT, MKV, MP3, FLAC, M4V, FLV or any other common format. No need for additional codecs, plugins - this app has everything you need for your files playback.
Elmedia strives to enhance your viewing experience with such possibilities as creating playlists for local files and web videos, 10-band equalizer to shape the audio tone, video tuner to regulate brightness, saturation, and contrast, versatile subtitles support, possibility to load external audio files, increasing or decreasing audio delay. Elmedia offers deinterlace option that lets you get rid of irritating horizontal stripes on fast moving objects in certain videos.
You can watch 4K and 8К videos without video slowdown or troubles with sound sync thanks to Elmedia hardware accelerated decoding.
Please, note that this version of Elmedia Player does not support downloading videos from YouTube. To be able to download YouTube videos, please get the special build from the developer's website, then upgrade it to Elmedia Player PRO.

I’ve used Elmedia for years and thought it better than AirParrot until I log in and now get a $19.95 charge if I want to use it for more than a minute. What used to be a great program is crap, and it’s time to return to AirParrot. Save your money and go elsewhere.

RESOURCE HOG!
I can't use this for more than a few seconds without my Mac's fan racing at top speed. Elmedia consistently uses far more CPU than VLC when playing the same video source, often hitting into the 60's, 70's, 80's even 90's percent (I've seen it spike over 100%).
For me this usually plays with less buffering than VLC - especially m3u8 streams that repeatedly buffer and often freeze within two minutes on VLC. However, the fan noise and overheating with Elmedia are unacceptable trade-offs for better performance. I'm not editing 8k video files here, I'm simply watching tv! There's no reason for all four CPU cores to be hitting over 205 degrees (up to 212). Temps run 65+ degrees cooler (in the 140's) with VLC and that's a MASSIVE improvement. I seriously worry about Elmedia Player causing harm to my 7-year-old computer's internals and wearing out the fan.

This is a go-to app for anyone who's looking for a modern, minimalistic yet feature packed media player. It blends really well with the overall UI of MacOS.

The green pixelisation that covers all or part of the screen every time there's a scene change still hasn't been resolved. VLC Player doesn't have this issue so I'll stick to that for the time being.

This is great player; once of the best on the mac. But, I find the Chromecast failing on my mac. The Omni Player is working great for me.

So tired of wasting my time downloading what I think are new updates, only to find I've had this version (downloaded from here on MacUpdate) for several months. Version 8.10 is not a new update.
